Looking For Ways to Make Valentine's Day Special?

Here are 5 Ways Candles Can Make Your Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is such a fun day to celebrate. No matter where you’re at in life there is a way to make the day special.

And what better way to celebrate than with candles? The sweet and romantic flickering firelight makes candles a universal gift plus they are an instant mood setter.  Making them an easy way to fill your home with idyllic scents, cozy vibes and romantic settings.  Whether you’re married, have kids, single or busy with life you deserve a day filled with love. And while we are still battling COVID this year that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate. There are ways to stay home and fill your home with sweet Valentine memories.

So, while we are in the midst of COVID, home more often, and tired of the drama, take some time to treat yourself and those you love with something special to brighten their spirits. It just takes one simple ingredient - candles!

Here are some ways you can use candles for yourself or anyone else in your life to make this Valentine’s day memorable.

Valentine’s Day Care Package

Valentine’s Day care packages are great for friends.  Whether it be for a date night they’re having, a pick-me-up, or just simply letting them know you care.   A Valentine’s Day care package is a great way to share the love.

You could include a scented candle, candy, card and even a cozy throw blanket. You can check out Target’s fun and affordable selection of Valentine’s Day themed throw blankets for some ideas.  Keep in mind that your care package items don’t have to be Valentine’s Day themed. If you know something specific that will make their day, go for it!  This is all about fun and showing that you care. Anything to help them have a cozy and fun evening at home.

Candles are great to include in your care package because they can be such a universal gift. Men and women both can appreciate the good vibes and amazing scent of a good candle (truth be told, I think my husband likes candles better than I do).  Throw in a good candle with a favor-size bottle of wine and their night is set up for success!  Just don’t forget to make one for yourself.

A Romantic Centerpiece

If you're not normally a very romantic type of person, no worries! It’s easy peasy to create a romantic setting in your own home. With COVID still holding us at home, this is an ideal way to celebrate.  Just gather up your candles and create your intimate setting.  Go minimalist with one simple candle in the center or try a collection of candles in the center of the table to make a bolder, more eye-catching statement.  As long as you have at least one candle you can make this work for your night at home.

Once your centerpiece is arranged you just have to let the humble flickering flames of the candles work their magic and your evening will be sinfully perfect.  By the time you and your bae are sitting down for dinner you’ll be lost in each other's eyes.

Dinner With Family

It’s fun to have Valentine’s Day traditions for the whole family so you can show them you love them. I remember as a kid, my dad always gave us girls a box of chocolates. I know it doesn't sound like much but it meant a lot to me at the time.  I still remember it to this day. It's these small moments that make good, lasting memories. It's worth doing something small. It really is the thought that counts.

If you’re looking for new traditions to start with your kids or ways to spice up your normal Valentine’s Day, here’s a simple idea that anyone could use!  Incorporate candles into your family dinner by adding a candle at each table setting. If you have tea lights and clear glass holders you could put some pretty Valentine’s colored sprinkles in the bottom of the holder.  Then add your tealight on top.  Your kids will think it’s cute plus it's something from the heart without breaking the bank.  Cheap, cute, easy and perfectly Valentine.

A Relaxing Bubble Bath

Whether or not you’re planning on having a night alone this Valentine’s Day, don’t forget about taking a bubble bath.  Bubble baths are very relaxing AND super romantic. Candles only add to the chill romanticism which makes it a great place to light however many candles makes your heart happy. The more the better in this setting.

If you’ve had a hard day and are struggling to get into the spirit of the day, try taking a bubble bath to wipe away your cares.  Bubble baths are proven to boost your mood and relax your mind - perfect for a care free Valentine’s night.

As if the bubble bath itself isn’t relaxing enough the sweet scent of your candles will only help increase your mood. Whether your candles are specifically scented for Valentine’s Day or are just your favorite scent (even better) between the bath and the candles your home will be a regular Valentine’s Day haven.

Teacher Gifts

If you’ve been a teacher or have known a teacher personally you know it’s the small things that matter. Being a teacher isn’t easy, especially during COVID.  Showing a teacher that you care this Valentine’s Day is a small gesture that would go a long way. You know they’re appreciated, so take this opportunity to let them know too.

To add something extra special to your candle, have your child write a nice note to go along with it. These are the small acts of kindness that make a big impact and the world can always use a little more kindness.

Share the Love

Regardless of how you decide to celebrate this Valentine’s Day just remember to share the love. We could all use a little kindness these days and candles are just one small gift that can be used to show others you’re thinking of them. You’d be surprised how much those small acts of kindness matter.
